Stand Up!
by Anthony on Jan.23, 2012, under Performances
I have very little serious left to live for, so I’m considering, with no seriousness whatsoever, of making the ultimate joke of it… and pursue a career in Stand-Up Comedy… Does that sound crazy? … the goal of making people laugh until they’re carried away in a stretcher — for a living — or die in a smoldering pile of goo on the stage when I bomb so bad that there’s nothing left recognizable remaining. I may not get far, but as I’ve said, I have nothing (or nearly nothing) serious left to live for, so my horribly wounded self-image will either get fed or wither away to nothing, and shrivel up for good.
Here’s what’s really funniest of all: In my blind naivete, I actually believe that I’m funnier than anyone else… never satisfied either with most comedians, who are mainly considered mamby-pambies…
… with perhaps one exception, Robin Williams, the very funniest man ever in recorded history (though he’s only ranked #11 on on this web site).
I’ve been getting more and more in the habit of ribbing my friends just to see how much of a reaction I can get. I understand how important good humor is, and I intend to keep it very personal, and violate all social customs, exposing the actual amount of sacredness of all things, which is actually quite nil.
Now that I review the list, why is Eddie Murphy #8? Chevy Chase is way down at #23.
I admit not being able to please every crowd every time I cut up, but if they can’t take a joke, F**K ‘EM, RIGHT? er… or maybe they should learn to relax the sphincter. It’s not possible to laugh without first relaxing the sphincter muscle, you know.
So, my plan is to make a long list of the things that people find the most sacred and serious, then the fun part… to systematically dice, slice, shred or pummel each item on the list with the least number of words… and plenty of passion — until nothing serious or sacred remains un-defiled, compromised, or otherwise reduced to it’s simplest truth.
This is my new goal. Stand up. Hecklers welcome…
A Dream of Camelot – 2012 – Masonic Temple
by Anthony on Jan.21, 2012, under Performances
I am really pleased to announce that A Dream of Camelot, a Richard Shulman production, will be presented yet again, it’s third consecutive year, March 29, 30, 31 and April 1, 2012 at the Masonic Temple, Asheville, NC.
The Temple proved a perfect venue for the show in March 2011.
The new director, RocK EbleN, seems pleasant and open to new ideas for the show.
Richard Shulman was bright and cheery, and it looks like we’re in for another successful season, however, it seems that I am lacking one girlfriend and one king — and other parts are likely open as well — so I encourage you audition to take part in A Dream of Camelot, something that’s been dear to my heart, a story of love and honor, vision and noble purpose.
Auditions will be held on Sat. Jan. 28 2012 from 2 – 5 and Sun. Jan. 30 from 1 – 3:30. The support team is forming and participation is being welcomed. To arrange for an audition or meeting contact Richard Shulman at richheartmusic@frontier.com or call 828-658-9604
I encourage all my dear talented friends to audition, that is, if you’re up for a real treat. Richard’s great to work with, as was the whole crew in years past. The rehearsals were powerful medicine for anyone up for sharing a vision of Heaven on Earth.
… well, I made it through my audition with the new director, and I’m excited about the new format for the show. I understand that the director wants to include children as well as musicians who play various instruments, such as horns, flute, guitar, etc.

As you progress, avoid temptation
by Anthony on Nov.12, 2011, under Inspired Writings
As one lives more freely, not concerned with a personal agenda that differs from the Holy Spirit’s plan, one will become more sensitive to the attacking guilt projections of others. Seen for what they are, the teacher of God sees them all as requests for love. To the casual observer, they are unjust attacks made upon one’s self, and can be confused with guilt. You have come too far to give into the belief in guilt, so it is imperative to avoid the temptation of being treated unfairly.
The Holy Spirit is at work on atonement, and we are to simply play our part in the atonement as a willing participant, through forgiveness. Each and every one of God’s children are forgiven by Him, so it is your turn now to think like Him. Remember that you are invulnerable to attack when you have nothing to defend.
