Deliverance, dignity, and understated reverence

by on Feb.22, 2012, under Inspired Writings

I’ve been accused of being self-centered, and unconcerned with others, but I assure you that this is only the appearances.  In reality, I’m quite reverent and I pay very close attention to everything.

One of the biggest errors in my life resulted from being less than expressive when I really could have said more that would have calmed my audience and built confidence.  Instead, I assumed that others shared my ability to empathise.

Based on the actions and words of others, it’s safe to say that I’ve been misunderstood in times past, and it’s challenging not to hold a grudge, and come to a place of perfect forgiveness.  I see this as the ultimate goal.  My alter-self (ego) sees the end game in total destruction of all I once held sacred, I see now must eventually be brought to love and peace.  In this statement, I acknowledge that it’s a simple error, and that my deliverance to love is inevitable.

All the good work I’ve done with my brother, Richard Fogleman, now, coming up on the 7th complete year since his untimely passing, it all seems like a very difficult dream.  It is a dream, however, that is certain to come to a happy ending.  I don’t expect this to be without some trials along the way, and lots of learning.

My brother, Richard and I, truly understood each other.  The things that people normally keep concealed could not remain hidden through the long hours of communications and the heart-felt relationship we shared.  It was with the Peruvian mineral project where our relationship underwent a welding process, and we knew the very heart of each other.  I have since come to have such profound respect and admiration for this man, and also acknowledge his indomitable nature, and that he must certainly still be able to affect what occurs in the world, to some great extent.  Should this be so, it would be greatly encouraging to know that I still have his support to continue the work we started.

Stand Up!

by on Jan.23, 2012, under Performances

I have very little serious left to live for,  so I’m considering, with no seriousness whatsoever, of making the ultimate joke of it… and pursue a career in Stand-Up Comedy… Does that sound crazy? … the goal of making people laugh until they’re carried away in a stretcher — for a living — or die in a smoldering pile of goo on the stage when I bomb so bad that there’s nothing left recognizable remaining.  I may not get far, but as I’ve said, I have nothing (or nearly nothing) serious left to live for, so my horribly wounded self-image will either get fed or wither away to nothing, and shrivel up for good.

Here’s what’s really funniest of all: In my blind naivete, I actually believe that I’m funnier than anyone else…  never satisfied either with most comedians, who are mainly considered mamby-pambies…

… with perhaps one exception, Robin Williams, the very funniest man ever in recorded history (though he’s only ranked #11 on on this web site).

I’ve been getting more and more in the habit of ribbing my friends just to see how much of a reaction I can get. I understand how important good humor is, and I intend to keep it very personal, and violate all social customs, exposing the actual amount of sacredness of all things, which is actually quite nil.

Now that I review the list, why is Eddie Murphy #8? Chevy Chase is way down at #23.

I admit not being able to please every crowd every time I cut up, but if they can’t take a joke, F**K ‘EM, RIGHT? er… or maybe they should learn to relax the sphincter.  It’s not possible to laugh without first relaxing the sphincter muscle, you know.

So, my plan is to make a long list of the things that people find the most sacred and serious, then the fun part… to systematically dice, slice, shred or pummel each item on the list with the least number of words… and plenty of passion — until nothing serious or sacred remains un-defiled, compromised, or otherwise reduced to it’s simplest truth.

This is my new goal. Stand up.  Hecklers welcome…

A Dream of Camelot – 2012 – Masonic Temple

by on Jan.21, 2012, under Performances

I am really pleased to announce that A Dream of Camelot, a Richard Shulman production, will be presented yet again, it’s third consecutive year, March 29, 30, 31 and April 1, 2012 at the Masonic Temple, Asheville, NC.

The Temple proved a perfect venue for the show in March 2011.

The new director, RocK EbleN, seems pleasant and open to new ideas for the show.

Richard Shulman was bright and cheery, and it looks like we’re in for another successful season, however, it seems that I am lacking one girlfriend and one king — and other parts are likely open as well —  so I encourage you audition to take part in A Dream of Camelot, something that’s been dear to my heart, a story of love and honor, vision and noble purpose.

Auditions will be held on Sat. Jan. 28 2012 from 2 – 5 and Sun. Jan. 30 from 1 – 3:30. The support team is forming and participation is being welcomed. To arrange for an audition or meeting contact Richard Shulman at richheartmusic@frontier.com or call 828-658-9604

I encourage all my dear talented friends to audition, that is, if you’re up for a real treat. Richard’s great to work with, as was the whole crew in years past. The rehearsals were powerful medicine for anyone up for sharing a vision of Heaven on Earth.

… well, I made it through my audition with the new director, and I’m excited about the new format for the show.  I understand that the director wants to include children as well as musicians who play various instruments, such as horns, flute, guitar, etc.

Do you know who you are?

You are the Holy Son (child) of God. (which has nothing to do with your sex)

Yes, you are indeed even

God itself
